Bulga Forest Diary Thursday 19th October 2023
After the strong winds two days ago, the continuous task of raking and blowing leaves has taken on a sense of urgency. Adding to the concern, there is a fire raging 10 kilometers away on the eastern side of the Biriwal Bulga National Park. The helicopters have been tirelessly dropping water to combat the blaze, but fortunately, there is no smoke reaching our area as we are upwind. Amidst this tense situation, the Currawongs are joyfully exploring a new installation thoughtfully put together by some of the many individuals who adore Zoe. The temperature stands at 21 degrees at 4 pm, and the ground and trees have become fragile and dry, reminiscent of the alarming spring of 2019 when the devastating fires occurred.
What a curious visitor, how strange, it had just come inside the house and i helped it out, feathers ruffeling to run over to the memorial and just sit there.
