May 12th brings a welcome change to a sunshine filled day. The Brown Thornbill calls to its friends in the Mock Olive Notelaea longifolia tree that is full of blossom and early fruit.

The ground outside is so damp that i squelch as i walk to the compost pile. The river has not  flooded over the bridge yet, but the 3 gullies leading to the river are all gurgling and flowing well…   The Welcome swallows are young and bright and seem to be staying for the winter.  21 degrees maximum and 11 minimum.
